Nice to meet you! I'm Lauren Zacher, an accounting professional with more than 20 years of experience in the 417 area code.

Originally a biology major with dreams of becoming a zookeeper, I discovered a love for numbers after taking on bookkeeping duties at a local architecture firm.  While working full-time, I put myself through college and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Missouri State University.

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of businesses and industries.  I previously owned a bookkeeping company, supporting clients ranging from restaurants and professional service firms to venture capital groups.  Later, I joined a local wholesale company, where I worked my way up to Financial Controller and gained valuable experience in financial reporting, operations, and business management.  Most recently, I've spent more than three years in public accounting, expanding my expertise across multiple business structures, including LLCs, partnerships, and S corporations.

This diverse background allows me to see your business from multiple angles: as a bookkeeper, a controller, a public accountant, and even as a former business owner myself.  Whether you need help keeping your books organized, understanding your financial performance, or making informed business decisions, I bring practical experience and a hands-on approach to every client relationship.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Daniel, working out at OrangeTheory Fitness, and tackling home improvement projects. A lifelong animal lover, my first job was as a dog groomer's assistant, and I continue to volunteer as a docent at Dickerson Park Zoo. Over the years, I have fostered countless dogs and currently share our home with two pups, Primrose, a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix, and Lorelei, an Austrian Black and Tan Hound, as well as a cat named Dudley.
